Certification
Top Meadow Farms Certified Artisan Beef Program is one of the only systems of its kind. Currently the Top Meadow Farms Certified Artisan Beef program, which was one of the first "method of production claim" programs developed by a Canadian producer, meets the labelling requirements of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Label Registration Unit, for its claim that CAB product is "raised without antibiotics, growth hormones, animal proteins or bone meal." All stages of production and feed preparation are subject to third party audits in support of these claims. We do not just rely on anyone's "say so". You can trust Top Meadow Farms.
The certification process for Artisan Beef requires that:
the program operates in accordance with a documented management system which is based on ISO 9000 quality principles,
the documented management system is submitted for review and comment by the CFIA,
all components of the program are audited internally on an ongoing basis.
an independent audit of the program by a qualified 3rd party independent auditor is conducted and a report submitted to TMF and CFIA,
the TMF label claim for Certified Artisan Beef is approved by the CFIA, Recipe and Label Registration Unit, and
regular independent 3rd party audits of the program are scheduled at an acceptable frequency and reports submitted to TMF and CFIA.
